Airstream is a brand of travel trailer: a home on wheels that a car pulls, with beds and a little kitchen inside. The famous ones are shiny silver, rounded like a fat bullet or a drop of water, made of aluminium. They were first made in the United States in the 1930s and never really went out of style; people still buy new ones, restore old ones, and use the shape as a look — cafés, photo spots, fashion shoots. It is a proper name, so it takes a capital A. Though actually, people sometimes point at any silver rounded trailer and call it an Airstream, the way a brand name leaks onto the whole type of thing. There is also a common noun airstream, written with a small a, meaning a flow of air; that is a different word. This entry is the trailer.
