An airman is a member of a country’s air force — someone whose work belongs to that service, on the ground or in the air. In the United States Air Force, Airman is also a rank, a junior enlisted title, so not every airman is a pilot; many never fly the plane.
An airman空勤人員 is a member of a country's air force是一個國家空軍的成員 — someone whose work belongs to that service——也就是工作屬於那個軍種的人 on the ground or in the air不論在地面或空中 In the United States Air Force在美國空軍裡 Airman is also a rank,Airman也是一個階級 a junior enlisted title是資淺士兵的頭銜 so not every airman is a pilot所以不是每個airman都是飛行員 many never fly the plane很多人根本沒開過飛機
Older English used airman more loosely for a flying man. The -man ending gives the word a male feel; some places say airwoman, , or just air-force personnel, and many air forces still use airman for women as well as men.
Older English較早的英文 used airman more loosely把airman用得比較鬆散 for a flying man泛指「會飛的男人」 The -man ending-man這個字尾 gives the word a male feel讓這個字帶有男性的感覺 some places say airwoman, aircrew, or just air-force personnel有些地方會說airwoman、aircrew,或乾脆說air-force personnel and many air forces still use airman for women as well as men而許多空軍仍然用airman稱呼女性和男性
It is military language, not a word for a passenger on a holiday flight.
It is military language這是軍事用語 not a word for不是用來稱呼 a passenger on a holiday flight度假班機上乘客的字
Though actually, students often hear pilot first and think airman is just a fancy . A pilot flies the aircraft; an airman may be a mechanic, a radio operator, or a young recruit still learning.
Though actually不過其實 students often hear pilot first學生常常先聽到pilot這個字 and think airman is just a fancy synonym就以為airman只是比較花俏的同義詞 A pilot flies the aircraftPilot負責開飛機 an airman may be a mechanicairman則可能是機械師 a radio operator無線電操作員 or a young recruit still learning或是還在學習的年輕新兵
