Admin is the short, everyday word for administration: the office work that keeps a school, company, hospital, or club running — forms, emails, lists, bookings, permissions. People say “I’ve got a lot of admin” when they mean paperwork, not the part of the job. In offices it can also mean the people or the office that handle that work (“Ask admin”). In computer talk, which students in Taiwan meet all the time, admin is also the person who controls a system, a group, or a website, and the special power they have (“admin rights”). Informal English even uses it as a verb: to admin a page or a server means to run it. It is casual. In a formal letter you would write administration or administrator instead.
