Acoustic describes anything to do with sound or how we hear it. An acoustic guitar makes sound naturally, without electricity — the opposite of an electric guitar. Scientists also talk about the "acoustics" of a room, meaning how sound behaves there — whether it sounds clear, or echoes too much.
