Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria. The national government sits there. Though actually, many people still name Lagos first, because Lagos is far bigger and was the capital before. Abuja was built as a planned capital, inland and towards the centre of the country, so that one old coastal city would not hold all the power. In news English you will hear both: Lagos for business, size, and daily life; Abuja for government, presidents, and official meetings.
