Abhorrence is the deep feeling itself — the hate you carry towards something you believe is wrong. If you abhor cruelty, your abhorrence of cruelty is that feeling. It is a formal, noun. In speech, people more often say hatred, disgust, or I can't bear it. Though actually, abhorrence is not a passing mood, like being angry for an hour. It sounds settled: this is something you reject in a deep way.
