To abet someone is to help them do something wrong or against the law — not help with homework, but help with the harm. You urge them on, make it easier, stand with them in the act.
To abet someone教唆某人 是就是 to help them幫助他們 do something wrong做壞事 or against the law或違法的事——not help with homework不是幫忙寫功課那種幫忙，but而是 help with the harm是幫忙做壞事的那種幫忙。You你 urge them on慫恿他們，make it easier讓事情變得更容易，stand with them陪在他們身邊 in the act做壞事的時候。

組成From Middle English abetten, from Old French abeter, “to entice,” from a- (“to”) + beter (“hound on, urge, bait”). That beter piece is from Middle Dutch or Old Norse, from a verb meaning “cause to bite, bait, incite.” Another path through Old English is also offered: ā- + bǣtan, “to bait,” from the same Germanic source.
