The abdomen is the part of your body between your chest and your hips — what most people just call the stomach or belly area, though it actually holds more than just the stomach, like the too. It's the more formal, medical way to say it — a doctor will ask about pain "in your abdomen," while in everyday talk, people usually just say "stomach" or "belly." Insects also have an abdomen — it's the back segment of their three main body parts.
