A-OK means everything is fine — in good condition, ready, no problem. You can say it about a machine, a plan, or how you feel: “We’re A-OK.” It is informal and a little old-fashioned in a friendly way, like something a parent, a pilot, or an American film might say. You can use it as an adjective or as a reply. Though actually, in everyday British English you are more likely to hear fine or all right; A-OK still sounds American, and a bit mid-century. It is brighter than a plain OK: not “it will do,” but “it is clearly good.”
