- 1are 的縮寫（you're、we're、they're）
This is the short written form of are. It does not stand alone. It hangs on the end of a pronoun: you're, we're, they're. The marks the missing a. In speech we all use it; in writing it is normal in letters, stories, and most everyday English. Very formal papers sometimes still write you are in full. Though actually, the sound is only a weak little “uh” after the pronoun — you are not saying the full word are. You cannot start a sentence with 're.
're 是 are 的縮寫，不能單獨使用，要接在代名詞後面，例如「you're」、「we're」、「they're」，撇號代表被省略掉的 a。口說時大家都會用；寫作上，信件、故事和大多數日常英文都很普遍，只有很正式的文件有時會把 you are 完整寫出來。接在代名詞後面的發音只是一個很輕的 ㄜ，不是把完整的 are 唸出來。它也不能拿來當句子的開頭。
